Job summary

The Pique Lab Learning Centre, based in Singapore, seeks a Teaching Specialist to join our Specialist Development Programme. You will focus on honing your Chemistry teaching craft, collaborate with our team, and teach both online and onsite sessions for secondary students aged 9 to 16.

You will bring industry insight into the classroom and extend your impact beyond lessons through articles and videos, all while enjoying a semi-flexible schedule and opportunities for growth within our fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Strong background in Chemistry demonstrated at secondary/tertiary level and ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Prior teaching experience in MOE schools, learning centres or private tuition, or volunteering experience.

Responsibilities

• Hone teaching craft by applying best pedagogical practices and providing targeted feedback to students.
• Share prior industry experiences in online and onsite classes to connect learning to real-world applications.
• Extend impact beyond the classroom through articles and videos, reaching more students locally and internationally.

As part of the Specialist Development Programme,you will be involved in:

1. Honing Your Teaching Craft: You'll collaborate with our team to apply the best pedagogical practices for our students, continuously refining lessons together. We handle the scheduling and service-related communications, so you can focus on what matters: teaching, marking and helping your students grow through your targeted feedback.

2. Sharing Prior Industry Experiences: Our students are always curious about what they see around them. In your classes (online & onsite), you can bring your prior industry experience into the classroom, enriching how students connect learning to the real world.

3. Extend Your Impact Beyond the Classroom: Your teaching doesn't have to stop when the lesson ends. Share your expertise with even more students locally and internationally through articles and videos, growing your impact beyond your own classes.

We’d love to have a chat with you if you meet the following criteria:

Required:

• Strong Background in Chemistry: You have a solid grasp of the subject, demonstrated at the secondary & tertiary level and can simplify complex Chemistry concepts. Added bonus if you majored in Chemistry, Physics or Engineering at university.

• Prior Teaching Experience: You have some teaching experience - be it commercial experience (e.g. teaching in MOE schools, learning centres or private tuition) OR volunteering experience (e.g. coaching kids in after‑school care centres).

[Work Information]

• Office Location: 1 Selegie Road, #07-01, GR.iD, Singapore 188306 (Nearest MRT: DT21: Bencoolen MRT & CC1/NE6/NS24: Dhoby Ghaut MRT)

• Working Arrangement: Semi-Flexi (Work From Home & Office Hours – depending on scheduled classes)

• Typical Work Hours: 4 Weekdays* + 1 Weekend (*This may include up to 3 evening regular classes on weekdays)

• We respect your time commitment with us. As such, you'll be paid full salary, even during your training period. :)

• There are no part‑time teaching positions due to the amount of resources required to groom teachers to excellence.

• We specialise in Science & Math and will continue to deepen our expertise in these areas within the next 3 to 5 years. If teaching Science and/or Math is your vocation, or you’re keen to catapult your teaching career with specialisations in these subjects, we would love to have you.
