A global logistics leader is seeking a talented individual in Singapore to optimize freight logistics and operations. This role involves managing shipment processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and improving cost efficiency. Candidates should have strong knowledge of international shipping, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to vital deliveries that impact communities worldwide.
When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. But that is not all. Your work also helps ensure that vital medicines reach patients on time and supports other essential deliveries, from wind turbines to semiconductors. You will be enabling transport activities by executing bookings, entering orders + generating all required export documentation while liaising with our Customer Care Specialists to ensure all requirements are met (in a timely and efficient manner). As always, these activities are in line with all relevant governance + regulatory requirements.
Shipment Management:
Create and complete shipment details in the internal Transport Management System.
Coordinate with all stakeholders and organize transport based on customer commitments.
Obtain DG approvals where required and escalate discrepancies as necessary.
Performance Monitoring:
Monitor and report on operational performance of carriers and vendors.
Ensure strong data quality for timely and accurate customer reporting.
Documentation & Compliance:
Create files for consolidation containers (Master).
Review and align shipping instructions, clarifying deviations while considering country regulations, export compliance, rates, and routing information.
Issue and submit all required documentation (BAL specimen, carrier OBL instructions, VGM, security filings, sales invoices) within 24 hours of departure.
Share departure confirmations (or deviations) with CCLs.
Release BAL B/L as per Financial Guidelines and working instructions.
Cost & Invoice Management:
Ensure cost awareness and efficiency through timely, accurate cost/revenue updates.
Maximize profit by providing cost insights to CCLs.
Verify incoming supplier invoices and resolve rate discrepancies.
Claims & Disputes:
Support and resolve claims and disputes promptly.
Logistics & Compliance: Knowledge of international shipping, DG regulations, and export compliance.
System Proficiency: Experience with Transport Management Systems and data accuracy.
Documentation: Ability to prepare shipping documents and ensure regulatory alignment.
Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong attention to detail for discrepancies and invoice checks.
Communication: Effective coordination with stakeholders and vendors.
Cost Awareness: Understanding of cost/revenue management and profit optimization.
Time Management: Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasks.
