A post-doctoral fellow position is available in Dr. Anand Andiappan Laboratory at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN). The successful candidate will support the research work that focuses on studying the molecular pathways underlying inflammatory diseases.
The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding functional immune responses in complex inflammatory disorders.
Additional work involves cellular and stimulation assays with flow cytometry and FACS analysis along with imaging by microscopy, and associated data analysis with statistical tests.
Duties will include managing safety in the laboratory, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory risk assessments, maintaining laboratory inventories, and performing other laboratory administrative duties and operations such as ordering and tracking laboratory budget.
PhD Degree in Immunology.
Preferably with experience in molecular allergy and clinical immunology.
Experience with human and mouse blood/tissue sample handling and in vitro cell culture and processing (e.g., isolation of specific immune cell populations, differentiation and activation assay).
Experience with flow cytometry analysis for different immune cell populations and functional immune assays.
Highly motivated to work in a research laboratory and able to perform tasks independently.
Precise, detail-oriented, and able to follow complex protocols.
Willing to learn new experimental procedures and troubleshoot assays.
Good team player with good interpersonal skills.
Good spoken and written communication skills.
