Job description:

Innovative Biosensor Development:

Design and develop novel biosensing platforms based on optical spectroscopy techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), and Fluorescence spectroscopy. Alternatively, develop electro-optical or chemical-optical sensors leveraging nanomaterials, nanophotonics and plasmonic material interfaces for clinical translation applications.

Technical Leadership and Collaboration:

Stay abreast of the latest technical advancements in the field. Participate actively in the national platform projects to foster innovation and interdisciplinary research.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Present detailed analyses, experimental results, and project solutions to technical leads and senior leadership as required. Ensure clear communication of findings and progress.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Work closely with collaborators from diverse backgrounds, including scientists, engineers, and clinicians from hospital clusters in Singapore and abroad. Engage in translational clinical research to ensure the developed technologies meet clinical needs and are ready for real-world applications.

Secure new grants:

Secure relevant competitive grants by working closely with collaborators.

Project Management:

Ensure that all project deliverables are completed on time, meeting the established milestones and timelines. Maintain a high standard of project documentation and reporting throughout the development process.

Requirements:

Ph.D in materials science engineering/bioengineering/nanophotonics/photonics/physics or relevant field
2 years of relevant experience is preferred
Prior experience in developing wearable sensor is advantageous
Experience/skills in developing nanomaterials/nanophotonics-based biosensing platforms using Raman spectroscopy/Surface Enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS)/fluorescence or related sensing are preferred
Proficient in nanomaterial surface modification and characterization
Hardworking, capable of multitasking, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet immediate grant deliverables
