Job summary

The FEAT Centre in Singapore is seeking a Scientist or Senior Scientist to advance modelling and simulation of plasma-material interactions for fusion energy applications. You will apply atomistic and multiscale approaches to study sputtering, erosion, and near-surface damage under reactor-like conditions.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant science/engineering field.
• Strong background in computational materials modelling.
• Experience with surface and radiation-driven phenomena.
• Proficiency in scientific programming (Python, C/C++, Julia).
• Excellent written and spoken English; able to work in teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply MD and complementary modelling approaches for PMI under fusion conditions.
• Contribute to multiscale and multiphysics simulation capabilities.
• Support reduced-order or surrogate models for coupling modelling methods.
• Analyse and curate simulation data ensuring reproducibility and traceability.
• Interpret results on sputtering, erosion, and near-surface damage.
• Collaborate with internal and international partners; publish findings.
