Job summary

The FEAT Centre at A*STAR invites applications for a Scientist/Senior Scientist to advance atomistic and multiscale simulations of plasma–material interactions for fusion energy. You will develop MD and surrogate models, collaborate with international partners, and contribute to publications and proposals.

Role involves integration of modelling workflows to connect fundamental material processes with larger-scale plasma behaviour and to support experiments and PFC design.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field and strong background in computational modelling.
• Experience with PMI-related or surface-interaction phenomena is desirable.
• Proficiency in Python/C++/Julia and scientific computing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop MD and complementary modelling to study PMI under fusion-relevant conditions.
• Contribute to multiscale and multiphysics simulation capabilities.
• Develop reduced-order or surrogate models for coupling between methods.
• Analyse and curate simulation data ensuring reproducibility and traceability.
• Interpret results to inform plasma-facing components design with experiment collaboration.
• Publish findings and contribute to proposals and collaborations.
