Job description

The A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential (A*STAR IHDP) focuses on research that aims to improve and impact the health and well-being of Singaporeans across the life course.

The successful applicant will be involved in a multidisciplinary and collaborative research study on the built environment and mental well-being. He/She will investigate how the urban environment, such as neighbourhood design, heat stress and noise pollution, can influence the positive and negative aspects of mental well-being in families. The candidate will also be involved in longitudinal cohort studies and collaborations with clinicians and researchers from a wide range of disciplines.

Job responsibilities

    Assist PI in scientific issues
    Manage and analyse data independently
    Perform literature search and design study related documents
    Prepare scientific reports and presentations
    Perform measurements, collection of data and samples as well as field and experimental work


Job requirements

    PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, Architecture, Statistics, Geography, Real Estate, Urban Planning or a closely related field
    Highly self-motivated with excellent communication and writing skills.
    Strong organisational skills
    Proficient in Microsoft Office and statistical programmes.
    Strong desire to learn in a dynamic multi-disciplinary research environment.
    Previous experience with geospatial analysis, managing and analyzing data sets and/or in bioinformatics will be required.
