The Singapore Quantitative Biosciences Department is seeking a Scientist with expertise in Cell Biology and Translational iPSC-based model development to join the Target Biology and Screening group. The role involves establishing and characterizing complex iPSC-derived culture systems, developing translational models for bench-to-clinic translation, and supporting molecular and cellular biology experiments for target validation and mechanism of action. Responsibilities also include laboratory and site management.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Establish and characterize complex iPSC-derived cultures under supervision. Conduct cell-based assays using these cultures, primary, or established cell lines.
  • Contribute to translational model research strategies aligning with drug discovery goals.
  • Operate and maintain instruments like immunoassays, flow cytometers, confocal microscopes, genomic assays, and mass spectrometry.
  • Stay updated on key biological areas, techniques, and technologies; conduct literature reviews to support projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance research projects.
  • Assist with inventory, documentation, safety, biological materials, shipping, and equipment management.
  • Optimize technologies and processes, promoting continuous improvement for safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Document experiments and results accurately in electronic notebooks and other records.
  • Plan and execute personal career development with managerial support.
  • Demonstrate leadership and ensure compliance with safety and company policies, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

  • MSc or BSc in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or related fields, with at least three years of research experience and a proven track record.
  • Proficiency in cell-based assays, biochemical, and molecular techniques.
  • Experience with stem cell-derived cultures and organoid systems is highly desirable, along with familiarity in transcriptomics and proteomics platforms.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a collaborative attitude.
  • A positive, proactive mindset, motivated and solutions-oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
