Job summary

A*STAR – Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore seeks a Scientist for Advanced Photonics Integration to lead development of photonics integration capabilities, including heterogeneous integration of materials with silicon platforms. You will work with photonics, semiconductor processing and fab operations in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• PhD in Integrated Photonics, Opto-electronics, Materials Science, Physics or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on experience in photonics integration.
• Hands-on experience in photonic simulation using various electrical/photonics design software.
• Strong communication, industry awareness, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong self-motivation and interest in the next-generation photonics technology development.
• Industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Development of photonics integration capabilities for 8-inch and 12-inch facilities with emphasis on photonics heterogeneous integration.
• Design and fabricate advanced photonics components and integrated circuits for next-generation applications.
• Design of Experiments (DOE) for design and process margin checking and control.
• Process metrology data taking and device/circuit performance data collection.
• Data analysis and documentation.
• Preparation of technical presentations and papers for internal meetings, as well as conferences and journals.
• Collaborate with project team to ensure quality and on-time delivery for various projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
