About the Role:

As a Scientific Research Engineer, you will blend experimental polymer chemistry with advanced AI/MI techniques to predict material properties, optimize processes, and drive innovation in polymer research. Your work will support both R&D and production, ensuring that breakthroughs translate into improved manufacturing efficiency.

  • Position: Scientific Research Engineer
  • Employment: Full-Time
  • Location: Jurong Island, Singapore (Company Transport Provided)
  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
  • Salary: SGD 2,800 to SGD 5,000 per month

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and execute experiments for polymer synthesis, modification, and characterization.
  • Analyze polymer properties using spectroscopy, chromatography, and thermal analysis.
  • Optimize polymer formulations and processing methods.
  • Develop machine learning algorithms for property prediction and process optimization.
  • Build data pipelines and feedback loops to enhance predictive models.
  • Use computational chemistry software (e.g., VASP, Gaussian, Amber) for simulations.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate research into production.
  • Document findings, prepare technical reports, and present results.
  • Mentor junior researchers and manage projects with clear goals and timelines.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, maintain lab records, and ensure proper chemical waste disposal.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Educational Background: Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Data & Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, R, or MATLAB) and managing large datasets.
  • Experience: Entry-level candidate is welcome; previous experience in chemical manufacturing is an advantage.

Key Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of polymerization mechanisms, kinetics, and characterization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instruments and data analysis.
  • Experience with DFT calculations and molecular dynamics simulations is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a strong safety orientation.
  • Knowledge of hazardous material guidelines (SDS) and relevant Singapore safety regulations.
