Job Description

We are seeking a Scientific Officer to manage and support a diverse portfolio of research projects and academic programs. The role involves research grant administration, project management, financial oversight, HR coordination, and outreach activities. The successful candidate will also support graduate education initiatives. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating with various stakeholders in a research environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Research Grant Administration and Management
  • Support grant processes, including documentation for IRB/DSRB, IACUC, and budget justifications.
  • Identify funding opportunities and promote funding strategies.
  • Assist in proposal and budget preparation.
  • Track expenditures and ensure compliance with grant conditions.
  • Maintain records of awards, reports, and correspondence.
  • Oversee procurement and invoicing in line with project scope.
  • Coordinate with Finance and HR on manpower planning and staff onboarding.
  • Research Program and Project Management
    • Collaborate with Principal Investigators to develop and monitor research themes and deliverables.
    • Organize research meetings and prepare documentation.
    • Ensure timely delivery of milestones and reports.
    • Align research activities with institutional and funding policies.
    • Draft reports and prepare presentations for stakeholders.
  • Programmatic Outreach
    • Engage stakeholders to promote research initiatives.
    • Manage memberships and bibliometric reports.
    • Coordinate logistics for research events.
    • Handle communication and publicity efforts.
  • Research Graduate Programme Support
    • Coordinate between research teams and graduate schools.
    • Support graduate and fellowship programs administratively.

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or related field.
    • 2-3 years of experience in research administration or program coordination.
    • Familiarity with SAP and iRIMS preferred.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.
    • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex documentation.
