Job Description

To write, edit and produce content for the effective communication and promotion of NUS' research strategies, initiatives and outcomes to the general public, grantors, and other stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Create and edit feature articles, news highlights, researcher biographies and other forms of copy that promote NUS' research initiatives and outcomes.

* Review and edit grant proposals, white papers and presentation slide decks for top-tier collaborative grants, and proposals of strategic importance.

* Assist in the scripting of proposal pitches, social media content and other forms of recorded visual media.

* Assist in the drafting of high-level reports and presentations for grantors and stakeholders.

* Assist NUS Senior Management in drafting talking points and quotes for media and events.

* Assist in training NUS research faculty on grant proposal development and science communication strategies.

Qualifications
  • The candidate should possess a degree in communications or in a science or engineering-related discipline, and have a strong understanding of the research ecosystem in Singapore.
  • An established portfolio of published writing on science and engineering related topics is essential. This should include popular or feature articles published in established media outlets.
  • A demonstrated ability to write for various media types and audiences is essential. This should include various social media platforms.
  • Experience in the development and writing of grant proposals, manuscripts etc is advantageous.
  • Experience in website development or maintenance is advantageous.
  • Candidates should be keen to take on additional creative tasks including video production.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience is required.
