Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Scientist 2 for its Advanced Science team in Singapore to develop new sequencing methods and reagents. You will lead project investigations, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and drive innovative solutions in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Be the main contributor of project and lead investigation to solve cross-functional problems in collaboration with key stakeholders
• Plan and optimize research ideas leading to new methods and chemistries for sequencing in a fast-paced environment
• Explore new technologies, troubleshoot and identify creative solutions to overcome current limitations
• Design, implement, analyze and present experiments to demonstrate feasibility of new technology with limited instruction
• Be a collaborative team member and individual contributor
• Conduct clear and concise communication with colleagues (cross-functional) and supervisors through oral updates, written reports and technical meetings
• Upkeep of lab equipment, laboratory supplies and good housekeeping

Position Summary

As a Scientist 2 within Illumina’s Advanced Science team, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team to help create new sequencing methods. You will play an important role in the research and development of sequencing reagents and consumables with the world-class performance, stability and robustness characteristics that our customers require.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s or Masters degree in chemistry or materials science with 4+ years of related experience
