Job description

Job Summary:We are seeking a reliable and caring School Bus Attendant to ensure the safety and well-being of students while they are traveling on the school bus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising students, assisting the bus driver, and ensuring that all students behave in a safe and respectful manner during the ride.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the bus driver in safely boarding and exiting students.
  • Supervise students on the bus, ensuring they remain seated, behave appropriately, and follow safety guidelines.
  • Ensure all students are accounted for before departure and arrival.
  • Assist in resolving any behavioral issues that may arise during transit.
  • Help students with special needs, if necessary, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with students, drivers, and school staff.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate school authorities.
  • Assist in evacuations or emergency situations, if needed.
  • Maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere on the bus.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children / medical support is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
  • Ability to handle children / clients with care and compassion.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred but not required; training can be provided).

Hours: Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon routes
