Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced S4 technical lead to drive site readiness, UAT testing, and user onboarding for SAP S4/HANA deployments. You will guide ECC to S4 migration, provide expert technical support, and coordinate on-site activities with cross-functional teams.

With 6–10 years of SAP hands-on experience, you will lead workshops, assess fit-gap requirements, and support greenfield and upgrade projects across enterprise assets and maintenance modules.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years hands on SAP technical support experience, including full lifecycle upgrade/migration projects on SAP S4/HANA.
• Prior experience leading enterprise SAP migration and new solution deployment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the SAP technical SPOC for ECC to S4 migration and on-site readiness.
• Provide technical advice and support to site on S4 functionalities and UAT testing.
• Coordinate on-site S4 UAT testing and user onboarding.
• Lead workshops to gather information for fit-gap analysis or blueprints.
• Document functional requirements for ERP processes like Plant Maintenance and Asset Planning.
• Advise users on S4 solutions and capabilities.

Role summary

Act as the S4 technical lead to facilitate site readiness, UAT testing and user onboarding to S4, and future deployment of critical S4 solutions

Key Responsibilities

• SAP functional SPOC for ECC to S4 migration
• Provide technical advice & support to site on S4 functionalities & UAT testing
• Provide integration support for peripherals / systems connected to S4
• Provide hypercare technical support post migration – IDOC error resolution
• Coordinate on site S4 UAT testing
• Participate & ensure site readiness for S4 migration
• Assist with user training on S4 technical functionalities
• S4 user role assessment & verification
• Lead workshops to gather the information needed for fit-gap analysis or blueprints;
• Document functional requirements related to Enterprise Asset Planning and/or Plant Maintenance business processes;
• Advise users on S4 solutions and capabilities

Education & Experience

• 6-10 years hands on SAP technical support experience, including full lifecycle upgrade/migration projects on SAP S4/HANA
• Prior experience leading enterprise SAP migration and new solution deployment

Technical Competencies

• Core SAP Skills: Strong command of OOABAP, IDocs, OData, enhancement frameworks, smart/Adobe forms, and object-oriented ALV.
• Modern SAP Ecosystem: Exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP, Clean Core architecture, and cloud integration tools.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to triage critical production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize sluggish database performance.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills to explain technical constraints or trade-offs to non-technical business partners.
• Project management discipline (Agile) with strong vendor and stakeholder management capabilities.
