Job summary

NCS in Singapore is seeking a SAP Project Director to oversee multiple IT SAP projects, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and alignment with client requirements and standards. You will drive project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and governance across complex hardware, software, and data migration initiatives for government and enterprise clients in APAC.

Responsibilities

• Review project lifecycle and design schedules, quality plans, budgets, and risk management.
• Manage scope definition issues and integration across hardware, software installation, testing, business process review, redesign, migration and data conversion.
• Oversee project delivery with regard to schedules, budget, manpower and quality; manage contracts and subcontractors.
• Proactively identify opportunities for expansion or improvement of services and liaise with Account Manager(s) for development.
• Provide leadership to project teams, give performance feedback and coaching, and drive team performance.

Job Description

The SAP Project Director is responsible for the overseeing, managing and implementing multiple IT projects with quality, within scope and to ensure deliverables are on time and conform to processes and standards meeting customer’s requirements.

What will you do?

Project Delivery

• Review the project lifecycle (initiation, plan, execution, completion)
• Review & Design project schedules, quality plans, budgets, and communication and risk management plans
• Manage issues arising out of scope definition and subsequent disputes that impacted scope, schedule and cost
• Manage issues arising from integration of various components of the project including hardware, software installation, testing, business process review, redesign, application development, migration and data conversion etc.
• Oversee the implementation of the project with regard to schedules, budget, manpower and quality
• Resolve project overrun issues with Senior Management
• Monitor and report on project management progress
• Manage resources in terms of mobilising resources during different periods of time from team to team to maximise productivity or minimise wastage
• Effectively engaged stakeholders in project decisions and execution
• Build long-term customer relationships by anticipating and exceeding customer’s expectation
• Negotiate with customers on change control mechanism to meet schedules and prioritize changes based on business needs
• Manage contracts and subcontractors

Business Development

• Proactively identify opportunities for further expansion or improvement of services delivered to the customer and liaise with the Account Manager(s) for development of that opportunity
• Be involved in pre-sale activities, leading key opportunities where needed

Team Management

• Provide leadership to the project team to ensure that proposals/ enhancements are fully analysed and evaluated for benefits and cost
• Provide the project team with accurate information about business needs and priorities as well as details about business systems
• Participate in leadership activities and providing performance feedback and developmental coaching
• Monitor and improve team performance, conduct team building, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Typically 12 years SAP project management experience, minimum 18 years of experience in IT services
• Experience in Singapore Public Sector SAP projects
• Self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude, creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including strong persuasive techniques.
• Able to lead, develop and maintain respectful and trusting relationship
• Due to government project sensitivity, we will only consider Singapore Citizen
