Job description

We are seeking an experienced SAP HANA Database Administrator to manage and support our SAP HANA and MS-SQL database environments. This role is critical to ensuring database stability, performance, and availability within a 24x7 support environment. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, experience with backup and recovery procedures, and the ability to respond swiftly to incidents and service requests.

What You'll Do:

• Respond to and resolve database incidents in a timely manner to reduce system downtime.
• Monitor database events, manage alerts, and quickly restore services during outages.
• Process service requests for database changes, updates, and enhancements.
• Conduct root cause analysis to prevent the recurrence of database issues.
• Support the implementation and configuration of both standard and customized database builds.
• Provide day-to-day operational support for SAP HANA and MS-SQL databases.
• Ensure adherence to defined backup and recovery procedures.
• Continuously monitor and optimize database performance.
• Handle alert monitoring and proactively address potential system bottlenecks.
• Follow protocol to decommission systems or servers as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in database administration with a focus on SAP HANA and MS-SQL.
• Strong understanding of RDBMS management in public or private cloud infrastructures.
• Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and decommissioning procedures.
• Knowledge and experience in incident management and performance tuning in a 24x7 environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage database outages and coordinate efficient recovery.
• Familiarity with alert monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and handle critical support incidents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for managing incidents and service requests.
