Job summary

A major international distributor in Singapore is seeking a motivated Sales Trainee. The role offers in-house training in commercial skills, preparing candidates for future opportunities within the regional office or overseas. Graduates with a diploma or degree in related fields and a desire for an international career are encouraged to apply. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is preferred.

• 2-3 years experience in commercial sales preferred.

Job description

The Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group is a major international distributor and stockist of steel pipes, fittings and flanges. Its offices can be found throughout Europe, the Middle East,North America, South-East Asia, China and Australia.

From our regional head office in Singapore and affiliated companies in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, China and Middle East, we service a wide range of customers in the oil & gas, (petro-)chemical, pharmaceutical, water treatment, (renewable) powergen and offshore/marine and construction industries.

Sales Trainee

The successful candidate will follow a program of in-house training. He/She will be trained in commercial skills. If proven, the candidate will have future opportunities within the regional office or overseas posting to our offices in Asia-Pacific.

Requirement:

• You have graduated with a Diploma or Degree in Business / Commerce / Chemicals / Engineering.
• 2-3 years experience in commercial sales would be an advantage
• Proven interest in trading and/or sales coupled with a drive for success and continuous improvement.
• You are flexible with regard to overseas assignments.
• You combine practical understanding with strong business acumen and good analytical and conceptual skills.
• You appreciate working within a fast-paced and changeable environment and you integrate well into a team setting.
• Your high drive is evident from your accomplishments and you demonstrate a persistent and proactive approach to challenges ahead.
• Your communication is clear and concise, including appropriate adaption to cultural diversity.
