Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement sales strategies to meet company revenue goals.
Work with management to set sales targets for the team.
Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to stay ahead.
2. Team Leadership & Performance Management
Recruit, train, and mentor sales executives and representatives.
Monitor individual and team performance against sales targets.
Conduct regular coaching sessions and sales meetings to improve team skills.
Motivate and drive the team to achieve high performance.
3. Sales Operations & Execution
Ensure the sales team follows lead generation, customer follow-up, and closing processes.
Oversee pipeline management and forecasting to ensure consistent revenue flow.
Approve and negotiate pricing, contracts, and customer agreements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and high-value customers.
Address customer complaints and escalations to ensure satisfaction.
4. Reporting & Analysis
Prepare sales performance reports, forecasts, and analysis for senior management.
Use ERP/CRM tools and analytics to track sales metrics and identify growth opportunities.
Make data-driven decisions to optimize sales strategies.
5. Cross-Department Coordination
Work closely with BD/marketing to align sales and promotional campaigns.
Coordinate with operations and logistics to ensure product availability.
Coordinate with procurement on supply chain lead time.
Collaborate with finance on pricing structures, commissions, and profitability analysis.
Work closely with credit control on constant reviews of customer accounts to ensure collections are timely.
Requirements
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communications, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Ability to analyse sales data and forecast trends.
Possess a positive attitude and is always proactive.
Strategic thinking and result-oriented.
Prior experience in Sales, Marketing, or Public Relations & Communications roles in the metal hardware trading industry will be advantageous.
