Job Overview

Within the Customer Support and the Services Organization, the Services Sales Manager is accountable for functional and business objectives. The successful candidate will report to the Sales & Services Director of Safran Landing Systems based in Vélizy, France. The role is based in Singapore on the understanding that extensive travelling within the ASIA region will be required (30 to 50% of working time).

The successful candidate shall be at ease with dealing with all levels of contacts from shop floor mechanics to CEO/CFO/VP of various departments internally and externally.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to work remotely from the management in Europe and to communicate proactively to ensure smooth and efficient business workflow.

Job Duties

  1. Manage a portfolio of existing customers and develop relationships with new ones to expand SAFRAN LANDING SYSTEMS Landing Life Services market and products footprint.
  2. Identify and capture profitable Services business for the Services Organization network.
  3. Negotiate with customers' contract terms that will govern long-term business, supported by in-house legal counsel.
  4. Understand and react to the market need, expectations, competition, and pricing in order to succeed with personal objectives as well as to support other Services Sales Team members worldwide.
  5. Be the voice of the customer within SAFRAN LANDING SYSTEMS Services organization as well as the flag carrier of the company to Airlines, Air framers, and MROs.
  6. Seek, identify, and capture profitable Landing Life Services business for the Services Organisation network in order to achieve the Company Services Sales targets.
  7. Manage the landing gear/component intake forecast for the designated sales territory and for the region providing accurate and timely updates to SAFRAN LANDING SYSTEMS detailing any changes.
  8. Comply with the Safran Group and Safran Landing Systems processes, rules, and code of conduct.
  9. Promote internally the necessary changes to improve the services to match the Customer needs.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Aviation Industry understanding and contacts preferred.
  • Technical background/exposure an advantage – Systems equipment exposure a key advantage.
  • Accounting/Financial Awareness required.
  • Language Desirable: English and appreciation of Mandarin language.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong Negotiation Skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the Organization.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive working style.
  • Results-driven individual.
  • Able to drive multiple projects concurrently (short/long term) and handle stressful situations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. At ease with speaking up in front of a large audience.
  • Think out of the box: dare to challenge existing decisions - whilst accepting to apply them when instructed.
  • Teamwork minded: role involves some travel alone as well as sharing of information/knowledge.
  • Appreciative of other cultures (America, Europe, and Asia Pacific exposure).
  • Ready to travel at reasonable short notice across ASIA, INDIA and work flexible hours whenever required (including socializing with customers overseas or locally).

Professional Experience

  • 5 to 8 years Aviation industry experience with OEM, aircraft manufacturer preferred.
  • Minimum Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial or Sales roles.
