Job Title: Sales Engineer - APAC Aftermarket
The Sales Engineer is responsible for activities supporting the APAC aftermarket sales team in generating sales revenues and increasing customer retention.
- Support the Aftermarket Sales team before, during, and after customer interventions.
- Set up (upgrade) proposals/quotations based on input from the APAC Aftermarket Sales team and provide input on maintenance planning opportunities involving A&C products.
- Coordinate needed actions towards A&C product centre for scope outside of product specialty.
- Proactively inform customers about KM product lifecycle status, including obsolescence, system improvements, and upgrades.
- Prepare commercial proposals for upgrades, new functionalities, modifications, and retrofit solutions in line with KM product lifecycle philosophy, primarily for CAT-1 & CAT-2, with potential for CAT-3 & CAT-4.
- Understand customer fleet and operations to proactively offer relevant products and services.
- Maintain customer information in CRM, including business data, fleet lists, and obsolescence status.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to drive aftermarket sales.
- Plan and coordinate strategic customer activities with responsible CRM.
- Complete and report on KPIs.
- Perform sales and technical support from the workplace.
- Support the APAC aftermarket sales team in quotations and proposals.
- Provide input for maintenance planning related to A&C portfolio.
- Focus on customer needs, installed base, and sales opportunities.
- Coordinate maintenance planning with the product center outside of product specialty.
- Establish links between sales, customers, and internal teams through close collaboration.
- Work with customers on quotations, proposals, spares, upgrades, and overhaul solutions.
- Inform customers about wider KM products and services for tailored solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in a relevant subject; experience in sales support and customer-facing activities.
- Several years of maritime or related industry experience.
- Experience with Intelligent Solutions products such as K Chief 700 and DP systems; navigation system experience is a plus.
- Ability to prepare proposals for upgrades, modifications, and solutions in line with KM lifecycle philosophy for CAT-1 & CAT-2.
- Knowledge of KM product lifecycle, obsolescence, system improvements, and upgrades.
