Sales Director (Data Center & Telecom Solutions)

Industry: Data Centre Hardware & Infrastructure Solutions

We are looking for a visionary and well-connected Sales Director who not only excels in business development but is also deeply embedded within the data centre ecosystem. The ideal candidate knows which hyper-scalers, developers, or operators are planning new builds, expansions, or retrofits, often before the market does.

You’ll be the company’s strategic intelligence hub and relationship orchestrator, leveraging your insider knowledge to identify high-value opportunities, influence early-stage deals, and shape the go-to-market strategy across APAC and globally.

5 MUST-HAVES REQUIREMENTS:

1. Industry Leadership & Credentials

Bachelor’s degree or higher, with :

  • 10+ years of progressive, target-driven sales experience in the data centre or telecom infrastructure sectors across APAC,

  • Out of which, at least 5 years Sales in Integrated Power, Energy Storage, and Thermal Management Solutions for Data Centres.

  • Over 3 years in team or people management.

2. Strategic Market Insights & High-Level Network

Strong ability to forecast market shifts such as land banking, expansion pipelines, hyperscale buildouts, and brownfield upgrades. Must bring a deep, live network of senior relationships with:

  • Hyperscale cloud providers

  • Colocation operators

  • Facility consultants & MEP engineers

  • EPCs and project contractors

  • Data centre REITs & investors

3. Market Intelligence & Deal Origination

Track record of gaining pre-RFP visibility and shaping deals before tender release—through trusted relationships, sharp market sense, and timely intelligence. Recognized internally as a go-to source for live market intelligence, including competitive activity, expansion signals, and strategic shifts. Proven hunter with a performance mindset:

  • Executes strategic sales plans with clear quarterly and annual targets

  • Uncovers and converts new build, retrofit, and sustainability-driven projects

  • Wins flagship deals & projects that elevate brand and deepen market penetration

4. Solution Selling, Client Discovery & Delivery Leadership

Expert in consultative solution selling, with a strong focus on uncovering real client needs and aligning value-based solutions across technical, operational, and commercial touchpoints. Drives cross-functional execution excellence, especially in complex or multi-country rollouts.

Commercially sharp with a robust track record in negotiating, pricing, and closing multimillion-dollar deals. Widely regarded as a trusted advisor, actively shaping project scopes, influencing design, and strengthening customer loyalty.

5. Language Proficiency – Mission Critical

Fluency in English and Mandarin is absolutely essential. This role involves daily, high-stakes engagement with Mandarin-speaking clients, consultants, and internal counterparts across Southeast Asia and China.

Candidates must be capable of conducting both technical and commercial discussions with clarity, nuance, and confidence in both languages—particularly in boardroom and project negotiation settings.
