Job Title: Sales Director

Department: Sales & Business Development
Location: Singapore (with regional oversight: Malaysia, India)
Reports to: Managing Director / CEO

Job Summary:

The Sales Director is responsible for leading and executing the overall sales strategy of the company to achieve ambitious growth targets. This includes overseeing domestic and regional sales teams, developing new market opportunities, building high-impact partnerships (especially with retail and F&B outlets), and driving revenue across all distribution channels. The role is strategic, analytical, and highly execution-focused, with a strong emphasis on expanding into new geographies such as Kuala Lumpur.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Define, implement, and monitor a high-impact sales strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead territory expansion, with a focus on growing markets in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Indian retail segment.
  • Establish monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals and performance metrics for sales teams.
2. Team Leadership & Performance Management
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team, including BDMs and key account managers.
  • Provide coaching, motivation, and direction to ensure consistent sales performance.
  • Monitor KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and set improvement plans where needed.
3. Client & Market Development
  • Cultivate relationships with key distributors, retailers, wholesalers, and restaurant chains.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in Indian grocery outlets, food service operators, and cross-border partners.
  • Attend industry events, trade fairs, and exhibitions to expand the company's brand and reach.
4. Sales Operations & CRM
  • Oversee the use and optimization of CRM tools and sales analytics dashboards.
  • Ensure timely reporting of pipeline, forecast, and conversion data to senior management.
  • Work closely with supply chain and finance teams to align stock availability with sales cycles.
5. Pricing & Negotiations
  • Develop pricing strategies that ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Lead high-value negotiations with clients and partners to close major distribution deals.
  • Monitor competitor activity and adjust pricing models as needed.
6. Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with marketing to align promotional efforts with sales campaigns.
  • Provide input into product development and packaging based on customer and market feedback.
  • Support finance in preparing revenue projections and budgeting exercises.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in FMCG, food distribution, or wholesale.
  • Proven experience in regional market development (Singapore & Malaysia) and working with Indian retail channels.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in sales CRMs, Microsoft Office, and market analytics tools.
  • Languages: English (required); Tamil or Hindi is a plus, for Indian market engagement.
