The position requires alignment with global objectives while tailoring strategies to fit the unique business and cultural context of APAC. Collaboration with the established SDR team in the US may be required to gain insights and best practices, but the role will have autonomy to adapt processes to ensure success in the APAC market.

This position reports directly to the Vice President for Trade.

Responsibilities

1. Team Establishment & Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of high-performing Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) in APAC.
  • Define objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics to drive lead-generation success.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and skills development activities.

2. Lead Generation Strategy

  • Develop and implement lead-generation strategies tailored to APAC markets, including cold calling, email campaigns, and digital outreach.
  • Refine outreach scripts, qualification processes, and prospecting methods to optimize results.
  • Collaborate with US Sales Development and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and share best practices.

3. Pipeline & Performance Management

  • Monitor SDR activities, performance, and pipeline development through CRM tools and analytics.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting in CRM systems.
  • Provide regular updates on lead-generation outcomes and pipeline status to the Senior Management in APAC.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with APAC Sales leadership, Account Managers, and global counterparts to define target markets, customer profiles, and outreach campaigns.
  • Facilitate lead handoffs to Sales Account Managers to maximize conversion.

5. Market Insights & Strategy

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and market conditions to refine targeting and messaging strategies.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to leadership on market opportunities, challenges, and adjustments to sales development tactics.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Introduce tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance SDR productivity and effectiveness.
  • Develop scalable frameworks and processes to support long-term team growth.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in sales development, business development, inside sales, or related functions.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role (preferred), such as managing SDRs, inside sales, or business development teams.
  • Candidates with strong individual SDR/BD track records who are motivated to step into their first leadership role will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of sales development methodologies, prospecting techniques, and lead qualification processes.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) and sales automation tools.
  • Data-driven with the ability to analyze KPIs and use insights to optimize performance.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at different levels.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong adaptability to cultural and business nuances across the APAC region.
