Job summary

A leading company in the oil and gas industry is seeking a dedicated safety officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and improve safety practices. The ideal candidate will possess at least 2-3 years of relevant EHS experience and hold a WSQ Advanced Certificate in WSH. Candidates should have strong skills in risk assessment and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of EHS experience, preferably in oil & gas industry.
• Relevant supervisory course certifications (e.g., WAH, Confined Space) are a plus.

Job description

• Perform regular site checks to ensure all work follows safety rules and company standards.
• Look into incidents, near misses, and safety issues, and suggest steps to fix or improve them.
• Help carry out risk assessments and support related training sessions for workers.
• Identify unsafe acts or conditions early and ensure safety measures are followed at all times.
• Keep clear records of safety briefings, toolbox talks, and orientation sessions.
• Keep up with the latest safety laws, regulations, and industry practices.
• Assist in assessing workers’ understanding and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Help prepare documents and evidence for safety audits when needed.
• Work closely with the safety officer to meet the company’s safety goals.
• Carry out other safety-related tasks that support the overall safety strategy.

Requirements:

• Minimum WSQ Advanced Certificate in WSH, or equivalent certifications.
• At least 2–3 years of EHS experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
• Relevant supervisory course certifications (e.g., WAH, Confined Space) are a plus.
