Requirements:
- Implementation, monitoring, review, and recommendations for improving safety on Workplace Safety & Health and Environmental Management Systems at the project site.
- Advising the project management team on risk analysis, controls, and updates to relevant legislation related to workplace safety, health, and environment. Monitoring and implementing risk controls to prevent injuries and damage, ensuring standards for fall protection, and promoting resource saving, recycling, and reuse of energy and materials.
- Handling authorities on spot checks, feedback, and complaints from residents/neighbouring estates.
- Collaborating with the project team to reduce disruptions such as noise, dust, and traffic.
- Maintaining WSHE records and liaising with relevant authorities.
- Identifying training needs and conducting WSHE training sessions.
- Establishing WSHE programs to promote safety awareness.
- Monitoring and improving WSHE performance, including identifying unsafe conditions.
- Advising subcontractors on safety compliance.
- Conducting routine inspections and audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Following up on deficiencies observed during inspections/audits and rectifying them swiftly.
- Recommending and advising on cessation of unsafe work practices that pose immediate danger.
- Acting as secretary of the site WSHE Committee, ensuring monthly and weekly meetings are held.
- Compiling and submitting weekly and monthly WSHE reports to corporate departments, developers, and consultants.
- Leading investigations into workplace incidents and recommending preventive measures.
- Issuing WSHE instructions, correspondence, and penalties internally and to subcontractors.
- Scheduling and leading WSHE promotion activities, including emergency drills and campaigns.
- Conducting WSH training for relevant personnel to enhance safety awareness.
- Ensuring correct implementation of permit-to-work systems.
- Establishing and regularly reviewing WSHE plans such as Noise Management, Public Safety, Fall Prevention, and Lifting Plans.
- Applying for international and local WSHE and occupational safety awards.
- Mentoring new safety personnel and overseeing officers, including Safe Management Officers (SMO) compliance.
- Performing regular inspections to ensure compliance, reporting non-compliance, and documenting actions taken.
- Reviewing SMMs if persistent non-compliance occurs.
- Performing duties as Fire Safety Manager, including executing Emergency Response Plans and conducting fire drills.
Requirements:
- Possess at least a Diploma in Engineering or Specialist Diploma in WSH.
- Must be registered as a WSHO with MOM and ECO with NEA.
- Preferably five (5) years of safety personnel experience on various construction projects.
