Job Description: We are seeking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our newly set up team at our biofuel process plant in Tuas. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role requires at least one year of experience in a similar position, preferably within the biofuel or chemical processing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training and education programs to employees to promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training sessions, inspections, and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
  • Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of (1) year of experience as a Safety Officer in a biofuel, chemical processing, or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of local safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to speak and write Chinese to communicate with our Chinese associates.
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective solutions.
  • Certification in safety management or related fields is a plus.
  • Candidates who are SCDF registered Fire Safety Manager will be an advantage, salary will commensurate with the qualification.
  • Working Hours: 8.30am – 5.30pm (Mon to Fri); 8.30am – 12.30pm (Sat – usually work from home)
