Job summary

A leading company in the chemical industry is seeking a Safety Officer to enhance their safety management system and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ISO certifications, experience in risk assessments, and excellent communication skills to foster a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the chemical industry.
  • Registered Safety Officer with MOM & Fire Safety Manager with SCDF.
  • Familiarity with WSH Act and subsidiary legislations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe working environment and culture.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs.
  • Conduct audits on Safety, Health, and Environment compliance.

Job description

Responsibilities:

· Establish and maintain a safe and healthy working environment and safety priority culture.

· Establish, implement and maintain the HSE management system to ensure compliance with applicable standards, requirements, processes and identified best practices.

· Facilitate risk assessment.

· Implement and manage the ISO 45001 system.

· Implement and maintain SCDF Fire Certification and SCDF P&FM Storage License

· Implement and maintain SS651 Safety and Health Management System Certification

· Implement and maintain ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification

· In-charge of all audits pertaining to Safety, Health and Environment.

· Develop safety training programme.

· Provide safety training and review the status

· Maintenance of the safety equipment and other related safety-oriented work

Requirements:

· Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, SS651, local regulations and chemical process

· A Registered Safety Officer with MOM & Fire Safety Manager with SCDF

· Well versed in WSH Act and all its subsidiary legislations.

· Familiar with the processes of Risk Assessment drafting, reviewing, implementation and training

· At Least 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the chemical industry.

· Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health discipline.

· Good people and communication skills

· Able to work well across all levels.
