Job description

Element has an opportunity for a Safety Officer. In this role, you will develop knowledge of and be trained in Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards. The position will focus on multiple responsibilities, including primary functions and SHE support, reporting directly to the location General Manager.

This role is site-based in Singapore.

Job Duties:
  1. Act as a safety resource for lab team members, establishing and implementing the company's Safety, Health, and Environmental program to ensure regulatory compliance.
  2. Coordinate SHE audits, inspections, evaluations, and related documentation.
  3. Conduct safety training sessions and demonstrations, promote employee participation in SHE programs, and lead the facility safety committee.
  4. Assist in major incident investigations and documentation, demonstrating operational knowledge of safety standards.
  5. Ensure SHE equipment is maintained, ordered, available, inspected, and replaced as necessary (e.g., PPE, fire extinguishers, AEDs, safety showers).
  6. Utilize the SHE Incident Management System to manage training, audits, meeting minutes, actions, and SHE events.
Job Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of governmental safety and health regulations/legislation.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a safety support or leadership role, with interest or experience in organizational development and challenging environments.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, data, and details in various formats.
  • Must complete and understand local SHE training.
