Job summary

A leading company in the construction industry is seeking a Safety Officer to manage Workplace Safety and Health initiatives. The role involves developing safety procedures, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in LTA projects, strong communication skills, and relevant safety certifications.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant safety experience in LTA projects required.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 is essential.
  • Possession of relevant safety certifications preferred.

Job description

· Assist in managing Workplace Safety & Health, EHS and fire safety related matters in the company

· Assist in creating workplace safety awareness and develop a strong safety culture in the company

· Promote safe practices in the company and conduct safety related training

· Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace

· Prepare safety related reports and documentation for safety meeting and reporting

· Responsible for the implementation and enforcement of all applicable workplace safety and EHS rules and regulations.

· Perform daily site inspection to conduct safety audits on personnel and equipment and take appropriate corrective actions if necessary

· Prepare and conduct toolbox meeting

· Implement and enforce Permit-To-Work (PTW) system for all high risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations and etc.

· Investigate incidents, submit accident reports and make recommendations for corrective actions.

· Ensure compliance of all work place safety procedures and legislations.

· Assist in ISO and Bizsafe audit

· Involve in creating MOS and lifting plan for projects

· Any other duties as instructed by the WSHO and Management

Requirements:

· Preferably 2 to 3 years of relevant safety working experience in LTA projects

· With working knowledge of ISO 45001

· Possess WSQ Certificate in WSH qualification and other related safety certifications

· Candidates who possess these certifications will be added advantage - WSQ Implement Incident Management, WSQ Respond to Fire Emergency in Building (RFEB), CERT First Aider Course

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Able to work independently with people at all levels and at the same time work well in a team
