Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings, incorporating Safe Work Procedures (SWP) as part of the agenda.
- Conduct an in-house Site Safety Induction Course (SIC) and issue security passes to workers.
- Attend and participate in project safety meetings and conduct internal safety training sessions.
- Review and verify all work permits before commencement of site activities.
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure:
Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Compliance with Risk Assessments and Safe Work Procedures - Monitor and ensure that HSE tools/equipment are:
Inspected by a Licensed Electrical Worker, and
Calibrated as required, with all updates reflected in the HSE Monthly Tools/Equipment Master List - Notify the Project Admin (PA) or Project Engineer (if no PA is assigned) via email when tools/equipment are due for calibration, so a Purchase Requisition can be raised in the ERP system.
- Identify unsafe acts/conditions and implement immediate corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the project team to prepare Risk Assessments (RA) and conduct RA briefings for relevant personnel.
- Arrange Client Safety Inductions for new workers.
- Coordinate client inspections of HSE tools/equipment.
- Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Investigate and report all near-miss incidents and accidents.
- Assist in the execution of internal and external safety audits.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience,
OR
A Certificate in Safety Coordination and completion of bizSAFE Level 2 (Risk Management Course), with at least 3 years of relevant experience. - Strong knowledge of workplace safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Good interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
