A construction company in Singapore is seeking a Safety Supervisor to develop and maintain safety policies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, organizing safety training, and investigating incidents. Candidates should possess a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace, Safety and Health, alongside a minimum of 2 years of related experience in the industry. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
· Safety Management: Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with local, state, and national occupational health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO standards).
· Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate risks.
· Training and Awareness: Organize safety orientation sessions for new employees. Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills, and refresher training for workers and subcontractors. Promote safety awareness through posters, banners, and campaigns.
· Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections of the construction site to ensure compliance with safety standards. Identify unsafe practices, equipment, or conditions and take immediate corrective action. Maintain and update safety checklists and inspection reports.
· Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe incidents to determine root causes. Prepare detailed reports and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
· Compliance and Documentation: Ensure workers use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, audits, training sessions, and compliance reports. Liaise with regulatory authorities during site inspections or audits.
· Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for the site. Coordinate and conduct emergency drills, such as fire or evacuation exercises. Act as the first point of contact in the event of an emergency.
· Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and supervisors to incorporate safety measures into project planning. Address workers' safety concerns promptly and effectively. Ensure that subcontractors and third-party vendors follow safety standards.
Requirements:
· Educational Requirements: Minimum WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace, Safety and Health (Level B) as stipulated in Singapore MOM's accepted WSH related qualifications.
· Key Skills: Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and legal compliance. Ability to perform risk assessments and enforce corrective actions. Excellent communication and training skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
· Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in a similar safety supervisor role in the construction industry. Familiarity with construction equipment, tools, and materials.
