Job description

The Department and Position
The department is responsible for the development and maintenance of Capital Market IT applications (in-house and package) used worldwide, covering Front Office (Murex, Apex, Orchestrade…), Back Office (Summit, Calypso…), Market data referential (Asset Control..), Market Risk (in-house application on big data technologies).

The Repo and Secured Financing (RSF) IT division works across the full value chain to sustain business activity and enable its acceleration.

This role focuses on developing the Calypso back office package, both in project mode and maintenance, supporting the "run the bank" function. It requires a deep understanding of business operations, timing of activities, and data flow through internal and external systems. The build and support team collaborates with business users, infrastructure engineers, and system managers.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Build & change management
  2. Develop in JAVA for Calypso v14.4 package.
  3. Develop internal components.
  4. Manage incidents and requests from business users and other IT teams.
  5. Communicate effectively.
  6. Analyze enhancement requests and bug fixes.
  7. Document deliveries.
  8. Change management
  9. Apply monthly release strategy, following team milestones for analysis, coding, and testing.
  10. Support the release roadmap in production.
  11. Operations management
  12. Provide application support at level 3 (expert).
  13. Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  14. Continuous improvement
  15. Implement process improvements.
  16. Coach junior team members as needed.
Qualifications and Profile
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Calypso developer.
  • Excellent understanding of Java, PL/SQL, and Linux.
  • Experience with Calypso versions higher than v13.
  • Expertise in Calypso Back Office functionality with hands-on experience in customizing various Calypso modules, including Custom Remote Services, Engines, Events, Filters, Reporting Framework, Scheduled Tasks, Messages/Swift Messages, Transfers, Settlement Delivery Instructions, Accounting, Pricers, Workflows, Reconciliation functionalities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Confirmations, Settlement, Position, and Accounting modules.
  • Understanding of financial assets (repos, bonds, SLB, issuances) and trade lifecycle.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting (HRF, NORIA, MMSR).
  • Experience interfacing Calypso with external systems.
  • Hands-on experience in implementation projects.
  • Proven track record in AGILE methodologies.
  • Experience with GIT, MasterDeploy, SVN, JENKINS, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Database knowledge: Oracle, Sybase, MongoDB.
  • Experience in implementing NR scenarios.
  • Development of Microservices.
  • Curiosity for new technologies.
  • Willingness to do Level 3 support if required.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations covering nights and weekends.
