Job summary

Alstom is seeking a Software Robotics Intern in Singapore to design, develop, simulate, and deploy autonomous inspection solutions. You will work across ROS 2 development, sensor integration, Gazebo simulations, and digital twins while collaborating with partners and clients.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware assembly, calibration, and delivering a working prototype from simulation to real trials, with clear documentation and training materials for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BSc or MSc in Robotics, CS, Mechatronics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related.
• Experience with ROS 2 and Gazebo/Ignition; basic knowledge of kinematics, perception, control, or state estimation.
• Strong Python or C++ on Linux; Git and debugging skills.
• Hands-on hardware assembly, calibration, and testing with safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, simulate, and deploy autonomous inspection solutions.
• Work on ROS 2 development and sensor integration (3D scanners, RGB‑D/LiDAR/cameras, IMU).
• Create Gazebo simulations and digital twins (URDF/SDF; BIM/CAD) for reachability and sensor coverage.
• Collaborate with partners, stakeholders, and clients; document code, datasets, test reports, and training materials.
• Support workshops, requirements writing, and stakeholder collaboration; communicate in clear English.
