Job summary

Singapore Institute of Technology in Singapore seeks a Research Engineer (Robot Learning & Manipulation) to advance robotics applications within aviation. The role contributes to the end-to-end robot learning pipeline, from data collection to policy deployment on real robotic systems.

You will develop learning-based manipulation methods, train policies, and evaluate performance while collaborating with researchers and industry partners to translate research into practical capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in robotics, CS, or related field.
• Relevant experience in robotics research or industry with hands-on work on physical robots.
• Experience deploying learning-based manipulation on real robots (not just simulation).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate learning-based manipulation methods for contact-rich tasks.
• Own end-to-end robot learning pipeline from data collection to policy deployment.
• Develop real-world data collection pipelines using teleoperation or demonstrations.
• Train and deploy learned policies on robotic manipulators and mobile platforms.
• Integrate hardware, sensors, compute, perception, planning, and learning into robust systems.
• Design and conduct lab and field evaluations including benchmarking and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with researchers and industry partners to translate research into practical capabilities.
• Support evaluation and procurement of robotic platforms and related equipment.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables.
