Job summary

General Robotics in Singapore seeks researchers with a strong robotics and machine learning background to advance state-of-the-art in foundation models for robotic systems. You will design methods, adapt AI models for robotics applications, and work with high-fidelity simulators for synthetic data generation.

Responsibilities include building scalable data pipelines, running experiments, and translating field-tested patterns into GRID platform features and customer projects.

Qualifications

• Undergrad or Master’s in Robotics/CS or equivalent practical experience.
• Current work authorization in the country of employment.
• Research experience in machine learning, robotics, and computer vision.
• Experience with developing robotics algorithms or ML models at scale.
• Programming in Python/C++ with PyTorch or Jax.

Responsibilities

• Design methods, tools, and infrastructure to push forward state-of-the-art in robotics and foundation models.
• Develop and adapt advanced AI models, such as Vision-Language-Action models, to robotics applications (CV, SLAM, navigation).
• Define research goals informed by practical engineering concerns.
• Adapt standard ML models and frameworks to robotics applications (CV, SLAM, navigation).
• Work with high-fidelity simulation platforms for synthetic data generation.
• Design data loading and training pipelines for large-scale foundation model training.
• Contribute to experiments, including designing details, writing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results.
• Platform Development & Data Collection: translate field-tested patterns into scalable features for GRID, lead data collection campaigns and model training (including synthetic data, teleoperations, motion capture).
