Job summary

SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY seeks a hands-on Research Engineer to develop and deploy a vendor-agnostic robotics connectivity layer that links smart automation systems, sensors, and warehouse platforms in a live logistics environment.

The role requires strong C++ and ROS 2 skills, experience with industrial hardware, and the ability to work across PI/industry partners in an applied-research setting.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a mechatronics/ robotics/ electrical/ electronics/ computer engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate the robotics connectivity layer: middleware nodes, protocol interfaces (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT), and data pipelines between automation systems, embedded devices, and backend systems, using ROS 2.
