Risk & Safety Engineer at Apave International

Apave International is seeking a Risk & Safety Engineer to join the TIV Risk & Reliability India team. This role involves delivering process safety, risk management, and HSE management services to clients for operational assets and during project execution (greenfield and brownfield) across India, UAE, and KSA.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6-8 years of experience, an engineering degree, is self-motivated, and willing to travel to client sites. The role primarily involves office work but includes site visits as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support workshops and conduct risk assessments such as HAZOP, PHA, HAZID, SIL, PHSER, and bow-tie analysis.
  • Develop risk assessment studies including QRA, FRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA, and F&G Mapping.
  • Produce HSE Cases and conduct Health, Safety, Environmental Impact assessments (HSEIA).
  • Handle consequence modeling software like DNV PHAST.
  • Design safety systems, flare & vent studies, hazardous area classification, and SIL studies (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Prepare Loss Prevention & Safety Philosophies and contribute to Functional Design Specifications.
  • Design active/passive fire protection systems, fire water systems, escape routes, and safety equipment layouts.
  • Review project procedures, deliverables, P&ID, and vendor documents for compliance.
  • Identify major accident hazards and propose mitigation measures.
  • Prepare man-day estimates, meet clients, gather data, and conduct site visits.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in science or engineering.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with PHAST/SAFETI software.
  • Knowledge of ADNOC, ARAMCO, QE, PDO, KOC standards, and international standards.
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power industries; consultancy experience is a plus.
