Job summary

You will develop Spark/Scala solutions, collaborate with Business Analysts, and ensure high-quality, production-ready deployments within a fast-paced financial environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Scala/Spark/PySpark for data transformation.
• Spark transformations and Hive table creation using Scala API.
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem, Hive, Impala and Spark streaming.
• CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, and DevOps practices in a data platform.
• Strong data warehousing knowledge and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Create Scala/Spark/PySpark jobs for data transformation and aggregation.
• Produce unit tests for Spark transformations and helper methods.
• Use Spark and Spark-SQL to read parquet data and create Hive tables via Scala API.
• Develop applications using the Hadoop stack to deliver on time and in-specification.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to review results and obtain sign-off.
• Prepare design and operations documentation for future usage.
• Perform peer reviews and gate all quality checks.
• Hands-on coding in a pair programming environment.
• Ensure smooth production deployments and post-deployment verification.
