Job summary

COFCO FUTURES (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking a risk aficionado to own the enterprise risk framework and support regulatory reporting. You will work with senior management to strengthen the risk governance and ensure controls across markets and operations.

The role covers risk monitoring, data integrity, stress testing and incident response, with collaboration across Operations, Finance and Compliance to sustain resilience in a dynamic financial environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Approximately 2 years of risk control experience in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with futures, derivatives, or brokerage business.
  • Good understanding of financial markets and risk controls.
  • Awareness of Singapore's regulatory framework for capital markets intermediaries; exposure to international regimes is a plus.
  • Experience in establishing and operationalizing new entity operations and risk control systems.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills for multi‑stakeholder environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and update the enterprise risk management framework including policies and risk control docs.
  • Monitor and assess key risks across business activities and recommend mitigations.
  • Prepare periodic risk reports for senior management and the Board; support regulatory submissions.
  • Review risk data for accuracy, completeness and reporting integrity.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and update policies; support risk awareness training.
  • Perform daily risk monitoring including limits, exposures and margin usage; escalate material events.
  • Support implementation and review of risk system parameters and risk limits.
  • Participate in stress testing, scenario analysis and contingency planning.
  • Support trade surveillance and post-trade monitoring; investigate unusual patterns.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Compliance to strengthen controls and remediation actions.
  • Assist regulatory inspections and audits by preparing risk docs and coordinating requests.
  • Carry out other ERM and second line responsibilities including new product risk assessments.

Job description

Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of a broad range of risk management responsibilities in a growing financial institution. You will gain hands-on experience across enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance and business operations, while working closely with senior management to build and continuously enhance the Company's risk management framework.


Responsibilities

1. Develop, maintain and update the Company's enterprise risk management framework, including risk management policies, procedures and risk control documentation, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards.


2.Monitor and assess key risks across the Company's business activities, including market, credit, liquidity, operational and other enterprise risks, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.


3.Prepare periodic risk reports for senior management and the Board, and support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and other risk-related information.


4.Review and analyse risk data to ensure the accuracy, completeness and integrity of risk reporting and regulatory submissions.


5.Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices, assess their impact on the Company's risk management framework, recommend updates to policies and procedures, and support risk awareness and training initiatives.


6.Perform daily risk monitoring, including risk limits, exposures, margin utilisation, key risk indicators and exception reporting, and promptly escape material risk events.


7.Support the implementation, maintenance and periodic review of risk management system parameters, risk limits and control settings to ensure they remain effective and aligned with the Company's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.


8.Participate in stress testing, scenario analysis and contingency planning to assess the Company's resilience under adverse market and operational conditions, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.


9.Support trade surveillance and post-trade monitoring activities, investigate unusual trading patterns or potential control breaches, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders on follow-up actions where required.


10.Work closely with Operations, Finance, Compliance and other business functions to strengthen risk controls, support reconciliation processes, facilitate risk information sharing and monitor the timely implementation of remediation actions.


11.Support regulatory inspections, internal audits and external audits by preparing risk-related documentation, coordinating information requests and monitoring the implementation of audit recommendations.


12.Perform other enterprise risk management and second line of defence responsibilities, including risk assessments for new products, business initiatives, operational changes, third-party arrangements and other projects assigned by management.


Preferred competencies and qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Accounting, Business, or related field.

  • Approximately 2 years of risk control experience in the financial services industry.

  • Familiarity with futures, derivatives, or brokerage business.

  • Good understanding of financial markets, risk management principles, and operational risk controls.

  • Knowledge of derivatives, margining, settlement, and risk monitoring processes.

  • Awareness of Singapore's regulatory framework for capital markets intermediaries; exposure to other international regulatory regimes is advantageous.

  • Experience in establishing and operationalizing new entity operations and risk control systems.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office applications.

  • Excellent multi-stakeholder coordination skills to operate effectively in a multi-jurisdictional, highly regulated environment.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to support U.S. time zone requirements on an irregular basis.

  • Spoken proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous for effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
