Job summary

UBS Singapore is seeking a Risk Manager to support the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) risk appetite and assessments. You will join the SCR Risk Appetite and Assessments team to identify, assess, and manage regulatory and related sustainability risks in a second line of defense role.

The role involves developing risk frameworks, data modelling, portfolio reviews, and enabling internal teams with training on sustainability risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in environmental, climate science, sustainability, finance, economics or business administration
• 2-5 years in risk control or sustainable investing in financial sector or consulting
• Understanding of sustainability risks, climate risk modelling, and international standards

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of risk identification and control frameworks for sustainability and climate risk
• Assess sustainability and climate risk data using models to evaluate related risks
• Contribute to portfolio reviews and development of risk appetite, methodologies, tools, and processes
• Train other businesses and control functions on sustainability and climate risk importance
• Contribute to reporting, external disclosure and communications
• Explore AI-focused solutions to advance SCR process automation

We're looking for a Risk Manager to:

• support the development and implementation of risk identification and control frameworks for sustainability and climate risk
• assess sustainability and climate risk data based on models to evaluate related risks
• contribute to portfolio reviews and support the further development of sustainability and climate risk appetite, methodologies, tools and processes
• use your knowledge to train other businesses and control functions on the importance of sustainability and climate risk
• contribute to reporting, external disclosure and communication
• interest in machine learning and emerging technologies to advance SCR Process automation with AI-focused solutions

As a Risk Control Specialist, you will act as a second line of defense, partnering closely with the business to identify, assess, and manage regulatory and related risks - helping ensure robust, forward-looking risk management across the organization. Your Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental, climate science or sustainability studies, finance, economics or business administration
• 2-5 years of experience in a risk control, sustainable investing function in the financial sector and/or equivalent corporate or management consulting experience in a relevant content area
• a good understanding of, or strong interest in managing sustainability risks or projects, climate risk modelling, knowledge of key international sustainable finance standards
• skilled communicator who adapts style to audience and conveys clear, accurate and concise information
• business focused and a good project manager able to work independently and across a broad agenda, and with a diverse network of internal clients and across various cultures
• able to deliver on targets also in an extended home-office setup
• self-directed, outcome-oriented, hardworking and collaborative team player
• fluency in English a must, other languages are a plus
• you're curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment - validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
