Job description

Whether you’re at the start of your career or looking to discover your next adventure, your story begins here. At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your skills and make a difference at one of the world’s most global banks. We’re fully committed to supporting your growth and development from the start with extensive on-the-job training and exposure to senior leaders, as well as more traditional learning. You’ll also have the chance to give back and make a positive impact where we live and work through volunteerism.

Shape your Career with Citi

Institutional Credit Management (ICM) is a critical component of Citi’s First Line of defence for wholesale and counterparty credit risk management and works with Independent Risk teams to ensure best-in-class risk and controls, as well as client responsiveness. Key responsibilities of the group include credit analysis and approvals, documentation, risk identification, exposure monitoring and stress testing. ICM coordinates with credit management groups across ICG businesses to ensure full alignment on business and regulatory goals, as well as consistency and best practices where appropriate.

We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Risk Management Cash Trading - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Credit Portfolio Officer - C13) based in Singapore. Being part of our team means that we’ll provide you with the resources to meet your unique needs, empower you to make healthy decision and manage your financial well-being to help plan for your future. For instance:

  • Citi provides programs and services for your physical and mental well-being including access to telehealth options, health advocates, confidential counseling and more. Coverage varies by country.
  • We believe all parents deserve time to adjust to parenthood and bond with the newest members of their families. That’s why in early 2020 we began rolling out our expanded Paid Parental Leave Policy to include Citi employees around the world.
  • Citi provides access to an array of learning and development resources to help broaden and deepen your skills and knowledge as your career progresses.

Located on the Trading Floor, Citi’s ICM Client Risk Solutions team structures umbrella trading-programs for clients, balancing risk vs profitability. Accordingly, the group increases Citi’s fee-based revenue and market‑making execution while managing the firm’s risk in times of market volatility and stress.

Based in Singapore, the individual will interact with internal stakeholders and clients across Asia North & South, Australia and Japan. The role requires a strong background in risk management and a client‑centric attitude.

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage pre‑settlement risk for an assigned group of financial institutions and corporates. Key duties include providing timely trade approvals within delegated authority and conducting regular portfolio reviews to identify and act on potential risks (such as large exposures, settlement fails, or adverse credit/market developments), ensuring adherence to the firm’s risk tolerance.
  • Serve as a key subject matter expert for internal partners and clients, providing guidance to resolve complex issues related to quantitative risk calculations (VaR, regulatory IM, and related disputes) and the application of relevant risk policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic, metric‑driven credit reviews, providing a foundation for expanding into more comprehensive risk analysis.
  • Over time, take on the responsibility of working with sales and clients to analyze portfolios, propose risk limits, and partner with Credit Risk Management for approvals.
  • Utilize risk management tools for the measurement, monitoring and management of exposure. Communicate these to internal trading desks, Credit Risk and external clients as required.
Ideal Skills and Exposure
  • At least 5 to 8 years of experience, ideally in counterparty credit risk or XVA.
  • Degree in Business, Finance or Mathematics, coupled with a strong understanding of derivatives and key risk concepts (VaR, Factor Sensitivities, Stress Test).
  • Candidates with strong experience in market risk management and familiarity with credit risk management would also be considered.
  • Strong, relevant work experience in counterparty credit risk or XVA.
  • Displays strong ownership and urgency, taking full responsibility for tasks by proactively filling knowledge gaps, engaging partners, and prioritizing for live requests.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make sound judgments by effectively navigating ambiguity and reconciling divergent information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to maintain seamless communication and teamwork with cross‑functional partners across time‑zones.
  • Programming skills in Python, VBA and experience with Bloomberg is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
