Job summary

AIA Singapore is seeking a Data Analytics & Business Insights specialist to partner with Governance, Compliance, Distribution, and Operations to transform data into actionable insights, strengthen monitoring, and drive data-led decision making and process improvement.

The role focuses on building dashboards and reports, leading data extraction and analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders to establish measurable KPIs and governance controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline (preferably Business, Data Analytics, or Risk Management).
  • 6–10 years of audit and compliance experience; insurance/financial industry preferred.
  • Good understanding of regulations, insurance business and operations.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain BI dashboards, management reports, and performance scorecards for quality monitoring and risk oversight.
  • Lead data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis across multiple sources.
  • Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and risks and translate into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Design and enhance data visualization solutions to improve reporting and decision making.
  • Drive data governance and data quality initiatives with controls and monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities to use analytics for risk management and compliance monitoring.
  • Evaluate processes and controls to identify improvement opportunities and sustainable solutions.
  • Lead and support process automation initiatives leveraging analytics and digital tools.
  • Support DFC and other initiatives with in-depth data analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop predictive and diagnostic analytics for proactive management of quality indicators and risks.
  • Collaborate to establish KPIs and analytics-driven performance measurement.

About The Role

The role serves as the Department's Data Analytics & Business Insights specialist, partnering with Governance, Compliance, Distribution, and Operations stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights, strengthen business quality monitoring, enhance risk oversight, and drive data-led decision making and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards, management reports, and performance scorecards to support business quality monitoring, risk oversight, and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis activities, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across multiple data sources.
  • Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and emerging risks, translating complex data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements, providing data-driven insights that support operational effectiveness, governance, and business performance improvement initiatives.
  • Design and enhance data visualization solutions using appropriate analytics tools to improve management reporting, monitoring capabilities, and decision-making effectiveness.
  • Drive data governance and data quality initiatives, including the establishment of data controls, quality checks, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure reliable and accurate reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data analytics to strengthen risk management, compliance monitoring, fraud detection and business quality oversight.
  • Evaluate existing business processes and operational controls, utilizing data analytics to identify improvement opportunities and recommend sustainable solutions.
  • Lead and support process automation initiatives, leveraging analytics and digital tools to improve efficiency, productivity & reporting effectiveness.
  • Support Distribution Financial Control (DFC) and other business initiatives by performing in-depth data analysis, identifying key findings, preparing management reports, and providing recommendations for follow-up actions.
  • Develop predictive and diagnostic analytics capabilities where applicable, enabling proactive management of business quality indicators, operational risks, and emerging business issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish meaningful KPIs, monitoring frameworks, and analytics-driven performance measurement practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in any discipline but preferably Business, Data Analytics, Risk Management
  • Minimum 6-10 years of working experience in audit and compliance relevant (preferred) to the insurance / financial industry
  • Good understanding of regulations, insurance business and operations
  • Good problem solving and communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Able to work under pressure and independently
