Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and report key risk exposures and P&L movements to senior stakeholders and the Board.
  • Ensure trading activities adhere to defined risk limits and escalate breaches where necessary.
  • Assess new products for risk implications and support their onboarding from a control perspective.
  • Lead or support initiatives that improve risk frameworks, processes, and analytics.
  • Actively monitor, analyze market movement and managing risk profile.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between broader risk team, front office and other stakeholders, and engage in cross regional collaboration with colleagues in Europe.

Your profile

We’re looking for someone who brings both strong analytical capabilities and a keen commercial mindset. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and has the confidence to challenge existing assumptions constructively.

Qualification & Experience

  • Candidates should bring 3–6 years of hands-on experience in commodities P&L reporting. Familiarity with market risk concepts or prior experience in a market risk function is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience or familiarity with commodities such as oil, gas, power, coal, metals, or petrochemicals is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; ability to interpret risk metrics.
  • Understanding of the full commodity trading lifecycle and market structures, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Basic to intermediate programming knowledge (e.g., Python, SAS) with a willingness to enhance technical capabilities, is an advantage.
  • Clear and concise communication, capable of presenting risk insights to stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, and the confidence to challenge the status quo constructively.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Curious, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
