Job description

As a Retail Sales Advisor/Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting customers throughout their shopping experience, from greeting them when they enter the store to helping them find the products they need and processing their purchases. Your primary goal will be to provide exceptional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Assistance:
  • Greet customers as they enter the store and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
  • Provide knowledgeable assistance regarding product features, pricing, and availability.
  • Assist customers in locating products within the store.
  • Offer recommendations and suggestions to customers based on their preferences and needs.
  • Answer any questions customers may have about products.

2. Sales and Transactions:

  • Key-in purchases accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Process payments by cash, credit card, or other means and issue receipts.
  • Upsell or cross-sell products to customers based on their interests and needs.

3. Stocking and Merchandising:

  • Ensure shelves and displays are fully stocked and neatly arranged.
  • Monitor inventory levels and alert management when stock is low.
  • Assist with receiving and unpacking shipments of new merchandise.
  • Participate in periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.

4. Store Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including restocking shelves and cleaning display areas.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.
  • Notify management of any maintenance or repair issues that need attention.

5. Customer Service Excellence:

  • Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and focus on resolution.
  • Strive to exceed customer expectations by providing personalized service and attention.
  • Build rapport with customers to encourage repeat business and positive word-of-mouth.

6. Working Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Including commitments on Weekends
