Job Description:
Examine patients' eyes to detect signs of injury, disease, abnormality, and vision defects.
Operate diagnostic equipment such as slit-lamp bio-microscopy, fundus camera, optical coherence tomography, non-contact tonometer, Humphrey visual field analyser, etc.
Explain eye examination results to patients, offering advice and reassurance on vision-related matters.
Recommend appropriate optical aids based on findings and demands.
Write referrals to ophthalmologists upon discovery of eye conditions that require doctors' attention.
Teach first-time contact lens wearers the proper way of handling contact lenses.
Manage the inventory of contact lenses, trial lenses, and contact lens solutions.
Troubleshoot and adjust the fitting of spectacles and ophthalmic lenses.
Keep and maintain patients' eye health records and historical data of purchases.
Ensure equipment and measuring tools are in good working condition.
Supervise and train new or younger Optometrists and Opticians.
Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.
Requirements:
Minimum a Diploma in Optometry from a recognised college (e.g. Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic).
Must be eligible for provisional/conditional/full registration with OOB.
Retail experience will be advantageous.
