Job summary

Carousell Group is seeking a Retail Intern to gain hands-on experience in daily retail operations and customer service across our network of stores. You will develop skills in communication, sales support, and store management.

You will assist with stock checks, promotions, data entry, and cash handling while delivering excellent customer service. This internship offers mentorship and opportunities for growth within a fast-paced, multi-location retailer.

Qualifications

• Currently a student or recent graduate in Retail, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
• Ability to handle customer service tasks and resolve issues effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time efficiently.
• Enthusiasm for learning about retail operations.
• Be available for assignment and willing to travel to multiple retail locations.

About the Role
As a Retail Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in day-to-day retail operations and customer service. You will develop key skills in communication, sales support, and store management, contributing to enhancing the overall customer experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply communication skills to perform various workplace tasks and ensure effective interaction with customers and colleagues.
• Produce business documents and reports using software such as Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
• Manage customer needs and expectations, providing exceptional service and addressing inquiries or issues.
• Provide detailed information on products and services to customers, ensuring their needs are met.
• Handle service breakdowns and perform recovery actions to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate and check merchandise to ensure stock levels, presentation, and quality.
• Support and assist in organizing store and sales promotion activities.
• Collate performance data on store and sales promotion initiatives for analysis and reporting.
• Manage and process cash and non-cash payments accurately and efficiently.
• Gather feedback from customers and sales staff to improve service quality and store operations.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels, ensuring stock availability and organization.
• Update and maintain the store’s database, ensuring accurate records for inventory, customer details, and promotions.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Current student or recent graduate in Retail, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
• Ability to handle customer service tasks and resolve issues effectively.

• Be available for assignment and willing to travel to any of the Company's retail locations, including Tampines 1, Westgate, Causeway Point, Eastpoint Mall, Chinatown Point, and Waterway Point.
