Job description

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

As the Retail Excellence Manager for SEA region, you will lead continuous improvement projects for the region and work closely with local retail teams to drive retail standards and performance.

Your impact

STORE OPERATIONS

  • Manage new store openings and any existing store refurbishment operational arrangements
  • Participate in driving a high standard of operational efficiency, clarity and synergy for both office & stores
  • Maintain and update the retail handbook to ensure operational standards are continuously improved and aligned across the region, and they satisfy audit requirements
  • Ensure the standard of housekeeping and merchandising are maintained at all times
  • Implement and monitor security measures across stores ensuring any investigations and subsequent reporting on abnormal events are accurate and lead to lasting improvements
  • Oversee and manage operations costs and liaise with different vendors and suppliers to ensure spending is as efficient as possible
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by the store teams at all times
  • Manage the order & inventory of non-merchandise materials (e.g., packaging, store necessities, uniforms, etc) to ensure timely replenishment & optimum usage
  • Allocate appropriate staff look quantities to store teams on a timely basis and manage all write-off when needed (e.g. issued uniforms, clothing allowance, etc)
  • Liaise with external suppliers to procure suitable services & materials for store needs; create vendor invoices for the purchases
  • Coordinate maintenance works and night work schedules between the stores & contractors
  • Participate in bi-annual stock-takes with the stores and supply chain department, ensuring all discrepancies are well-managed
  • Manage ad-hoc projects including friends and family sales, event-organising and store initiatives
  • Coordinate store team’s travel arrangements

RETAIL PERFORMANCE

  • Act as business partner to the retail management team (GM’s and country-level Retail Managers) to drive operational standards and sales across the network
  • Prepare monthly store commissions and incentives across the region
  • Manage ad-hoc, weekly and monthly reports e.g. sales & KPI reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Drive new initiatives and projects to increase the effectiveness of the retail operation / performance function (e.g. stock excellence, all category transactions, handbag cross-selling, local client sales focus)
  • Oversee manpower planning and staffing optimization, ensuring optimal management of manpower needs with alignment to business needs e.g. match to traffic, deliveries, high conversion times

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Retail Management

Experience:

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in retail operations and retail management, preferably in the retail industry
  • Experience in luxury/fashion business a plus

Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, business analysis, KPI measurement and set-up
  • Self-motivated with a sense of initiative and urgency
  • Detail-oriented with good organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Intermediate level of excel skills

Languages: Fluent in English
