Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the dining floor to ensure smooth service and identify potential issues (e.g., slow-moving tables, pre-bussed tables, setup needs).
- Act as the central point of communication between the servers, kitchen, and management.
- Coordinate table turnover, ensuring tables are quickly and properly reset to the highest standard.
- Assist the service team as needed, including running food, refilling drinks, pre-bussing tables, and polishing silverware during peak times.
- Warmly greet all guests upon arrival and manage the reservation system and waitlist accurately.
- Skillfully manage the dining room seating chart to optimize server sections, balance the kitchen's pace, and minimize wait times.
- Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and introduce the server.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and minor complaints with grace, professionalism, and a solution-oriented approach.
- Maintain a pristine and organized host stand and entrance area.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and atmosphere of the entire dining area and restrooms throughout service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- A professional and polished demeanor with outstanding verbal communication skills.
- Expertise with reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) is a must.
- A proactive, team-player attitude with a strong sense of urgency.
- Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
