We are looking for a Resources Manager responsible for overseeing our Mobile Team in Singapore. In this role, you will ensure that we have the right resources with the right competencies available when needed, enabling optimized resource utilization. Your tasks will include motivating the team, enhancing their competence and performance, and supporting their professional development.

This role will be located in Singapore, and travel will be required.

As a Resources Manager for the Mobile Team, you will be part of a diverse team, with responsibilities including:

  • Optimizing team utilization and capacity planning in line with company strategy.
  • Identifying improvement areas, driving initiatives, and establishing best practices.
  • Monitoring working hours, ensuring legal compliance, and managing overtime dispenses.
  • Ensuring work is performed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and site procedures.
  • Developing skill enhancement programs for engineers and technicians in Wartsila 2-stroke, 4-stroke, and Propulsion products to ensure foundational technical knowledge.
  • Seeking opportunities to acquire the latest technical knowledge for non-Wartsila products, maintaining team competency.
  • Supporting sales and operational teams to capture service opportunities with competitive offers.
  • Promoting safety and well-being, encouraging hazard identification and safety improvements.
  • Ensuring proper use of tools like FS Mobility, Concur, SWR, and SRR according to processes.
  • Fostering professional growth within the team based on development plans and individual potential.
  • Managing performance and development dialogues.
  • Maintaining documentation such as VISAs, certificates, vaccinations, passports, and other relevant documents.
  • Handling daily employee needs like sick leave, time off, vacations, and role changes.
  • Facilitating effective communication with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Participating in recruitment processes as needed.
  • Encouraging continuous improvement and team success to strengthen our position as a preferred service provider.
  • Promoting Wärtsilä Continuous Improvement (WCI) initiatives to enhance customer experience and value.

Requirements include:

  • Expertise in overhaul/maintenance of 4-stroke diesel and gas engines, propulsion products, and automation systems.
  • Financial acumen, including cost analysis and P&L management.
  • Relevant education or significant experience in the field.
  • A passion for developing people and teams.
  • A mindset geared towards continuous improvement and change management.
  • Influential skills to positively impact safety, motivation, and performance.
  • Experience in Field Service roles is advantageous.
  • Technical know-how and engine competence are advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, guidance, and decision-making skills.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and self-managed work approach.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to handle demanding tasks under pressure and adapt to challenges.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • A drive to deliver excellent customer service.
